I used a black poster as a canvas to create a negative image of mother Gaia in a body of water with three different animals; An eagle, deer, and a moose. It is a representation of the Michigan flag but it is being presented in a more darker way. Mother gaia is crying into the peninsula with the two animals by her side, drowning beside her. the message behind this painting is that the water in Michigan, specifically in Flint, is toxic and undrinkable. People and animals are getting sick and the government isn’t doing much to help.
