At the end of the summer, I created a watercolor painting of a black woman which focused on the concept of the Black Lives Matter movement. I used dots and lines in reference to Wassily Kandinsky's Composition 8 to compose transitional images using shapes within the painting which directed me to experiment with Op Art. This was a guideline in which I used a digital graphics editor to experiment with geometric shapes to compose illusionary art in the means of tricking the viewer's perception by making them feel disturbed or disoriented. I have used Victor Vasarely's work such as TSALOKA-2, Hold-K, and Jeruza, as references of inspiration for my work.
